Germantown High School * Philadelphia, PA. * Class of 1957

News From Linda

24 September, 2003

Dear Classmate,
We are in the process of planning our 47 th reunion brunch for the Germantown High School Class of 1957. It will be held in October 2004. Our intent is to distribute to all classmates our memory booklet with biographical information about every classmate. We consider this a “once in a lifetime” opportunity for you to share your high school experiences, anecdotes and special sentiments about your days at GHS, as well as your life achievements since. Please submit your biographical information as suggested below, attaching additional sheets as needed. Please note that the booklet committee reserves the right to edit.

The Booklet is a very public way that we have of communicating with each other. It will provide information and allow those who are unable to attend a means of contacting people, as well as provide a “catch-up” for those that are able to attend.

There are two separate topics that we would like you to think about.

MEMORIES OF GHS
We realize that the years at GHS were different for everyone. We would appreciate it, if you would write something specifically about the time you spent at GHS.Here are some suggestions that might help:
Tell how you feel or felt about your time at GHS.
Are there other students you especially remember or who made a difference to you?
Are there teachers/staff that you especially remember or made a difference?
Are there teachers/staff whom you really disliked?
Are there activities that were especially important to you? (sports, music, societies, etc.)

LIFE AFTER GHS
We are all interested in what we each have done with our lives. Describing what we have done over the past 47 years can be done several ways:

1. A formal description with categories - something like a CV or resume.
- but PLEASE WRITE IN THE FIRST PERSON… “I”……..
a. education
b. work history
c. marital status
d. children
e. grandchildren
f. hobbies
g. anything else

2. A more informal or personal description which may include the information noted in the formal description, but focuses more on sharing who you are and what your life has been like with old friends.

For those with internet access there are examples on the GHS57 Web site
https://gwf225.tripod.com/ghs1957.html

WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO CONSIDER WHATEVER YOU WRITE BEING POSTED ON THE WEB SITE. PLEASE INDICATE ON YOUR OFFERING WHETHER IT IS ONLY FOR THE BOOKLET, OR CAN BE POSTED.

Please send your submissions to Lois Addison –
