My work is oriented toward natural phenomena. My approach is romantic whether I am focusing on the fragility of a sunset or the nobility of a common houseplant. I try to dramatize the mystery and elegance of my subject matter. I attempt in my paintings to express the disturbing aspects of beauty and therefore signify a larger presence. In true romantic fashion I celebrate my independence as reflected in my choice of genre.
I have had twelve solo exhibitions primarily in the Southeast and have been chosen for twenty-six juried exhibitions such as the 31st MAG Museum exhibition, Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts in Alabama; Delaware Museum Annual, Wilmington, DE (first prize); Ten Artists of the Mohawk-Hudson Region, University Art Gallery, State University of New York in Albany; Cape May National Midsummer Competition, Cape May, New Jersey and The Wiregrass Biennial Art Competition, Wiregrass Museum of Art in Dothan, Alabama.
